Steel and glass gate

I recently did a garden gate in a Prairie Style for some Frank Lloyd Wright fans. They have a nice stained glass window, that I used for inspiration of a center piece in the gate. I asked my friend Angelo to help with some glass and we worked out a technique using colored glass sandwiched in a steel outline.

We were pleased with the result and I liked the idea of creating the gate in modules for ease of installation. Additionally I can see, that individual elements could be changed, maybe to even celebrate different seasons or just on a whim. The installation did go well.

In a very pleasant case of happenstance, I was just finishing the installation at about noon on a lovely sunny Colorado day. After every thing was aligned and the latch was installed, I attached the two inserts. I opened the gate to recheck swing and clearance. Imagine my delight to find, that a second flower appeared on the south facing wall.
